Membership

Be counted. every day.

Black Trans Alliance welcomes you to become a member. You'll be joining trans people, queer people, trans allies, trans-supportive organisations, and trans service providers, all committed to supporting and improving the lives of Black trans and non-binary people in London and beyond.

Membership is how we say — together — that Black trans lives matter every single day. Not just in the moments of outrage. Not just when a story hits the news. Every. Single. Day.

What membership really is
A standing position.

A donation is a moment. A membership is a relationship. By joining BTA, you're not making a single gesture — you're taking up a standing position alongside Black trans and non-binary people in this country, on the record, going forward.

That matters more than people realise. It changes what we can plan, who hears us, and what we can build.

The mutual exchange.

Membership is a two-way relationship. Here is what flows in each direction:

For you
What you receive
  • Membership in a community of people who have made the same commitment as you.
  • Quarterly digital newsletter with movement updates, member spotlights, and ways to get involved.
  • Priority invitations to events, gatherings, and members-only briefings.
  • Networking with allies, peers, professionals, and trans-supportive organisations across the UK.
  • Discounted access to BTA merchandise.
  • A voice in shaping the work — members are surveyed on campaign priorities and organisational direction.
For the work
What the organisation receives
  • Predictable income that lets us plan campaigns, hire peer supporters, and build long-term programmes rather than chasing crisis funding.
  • Political weight. When we tell MPs, funders, and the press that BTA speaks for thousands of members, the conversation changes.
  • A standing base. A measurable community of supporters whose presence demonstrates that Black trans solidarity is mainstream, not marginal.
  • Time back. Every recurring member is a fundraising appeal we don't have to run, so the team can focus on the work itself.

Be part of it.

Two ways to join. Pick the one that fits.
