The Difference We Make

Shifting the cultural narrative.

At Black Trans Alliance, we uplift stories and amplify voices that for too long have gone unheard. Our platform centres Black trans and non-binary narratives, bringing marginalised experiences out of the shadows. More than visibility, we take action to support and empower our community.

What we do

As a Black queer and trans-led organisation, we embrace the power of representation while building programmes directed by those with lived experience. Our work runs across five areas:

• Peer-to-peer support, helpline, and trans-affirming counselling.
• Community Ally Programme — training people to show up actively for Black trans lives.
• Policy advocacy and campaigning — from Westminster to the workplace.
• Platforms for Black trans voices — podcasts, storytelling, public writing.
• Leadership development for emerging Black trans organisers and creatives.

The road ahead is long. Every hour volunteered, pound donated, and voice raised gets us closer. This work is not possible without the solidarity of allies and accomplices from all walks of life.
